The mesh fabric makes the shorts feel light and soft, comfortable to wear. The built in liner uses the same fabric, which avoids friction during running. I'm 5'5, 120lb, pear shape, normally I wear 26-27 jeans, like other Tracksmith shorts, size samll fits me perfectly. The shorts does have a small pocket, but it's only for key or credit card. I would like to fit my phone in the pocket, but the pocket is not big enough.
